It's a good week for fans of multicolored block toys. Yesterday, TT Games announced Lego Star Wars 3: The Clone Wars, and today the beta sign-ups have opened for the Lego Universe MMO. For your chance at being one of the first to try Lego's foray into a massively multiplayer world, head over to the beta sign-up page and register. A Lego ID is required to register for the beta, but it's free and covers the other sections of the Lego site as well.

The game is an attempt to bring together several disparate types of Lego toys. The Lego brand encompasses everything from medieval knights to outer space explorers, so giving players a chance to mix and match in a virtual world should allow for quite a lot of customization.
