For the second to last Wednesday of the year, Microsoft has released two new games on the Xbox Live Arcade today along with the Trials HD "Big Pack." The Big Pack, as we've detailed previously, is a 400 Microsoft Point ($5) add-on that brings with it 35 new tracks (23 for racing, 12 for skill games), five new tournaments comprised of the new tracks, 50 new objects for the level creator (including a car, gravity field, wind, rocket turbine, and motor), and three new Achievements (worth 50 Gamerscore).
Polar Panic (800 points, $10) is the first of the two new Arcade games. Also released on the PlayStation 3 as a part of this week's Store update, Polar Panic is a puzzler with multiplayer support for up to four players, albeit that multiplayer is limited to local play only.
The other is the much anticipated Square Enix shooter 0 Day Attack on Earth (1,200 points, $15). The game was first announced at a Microsoft press conference in Japan earlier this year and, when we got our hands on it during TGS in September, it was described in our preview as "a slower paced version of a game like Super Stardust HD but set in cities across the globe where aliens have invaded." The game looked pretty but lacked variety at the time, and multiplayer wasn't available at that point -- the version available on the Xbox Live Marketplace supports online co-op which could help to offset the game's problems.
